We plan to perform the following pieces (click for full score):
I place a white sheet of paper on the floor.
I place 20 knives of different sizes and shapes on the paper.
I place 2 tape recorders with microphones on the floor.
Performance
I turn on the first tape recorder.
I take the first knife and stab in between the fingers of my left hand as fast as possible.
Every time I cut myself, I change the knife.
When I’ve used all of the knives (all the rhythms), I rewind the tape recorder.
I listen to the recording of the first part of the performance.
I concentrate. I repeat the first part of the performance.
I take the knives in the same order, follow the same order, follow the same rhythm, and cut myself in the same places.
In this performance the mistakes of time past and time present are synchronized.
I rewind the second tape recorder and listen to the double rhythm of the knives.
I leave.
There are 72 objects on the table that one can use on me as desired.

I am the object.
During this period I take full responsibility.
I lie on the floor with my head tilted backward.

I scream until I lose my voice.

Two bodies repeatedly pass, touching each other.
After gaining a higher speed they collide.

We are standing holding a double-sided mirror between our bodies.
Marina: I am leaving.
Ulay: I am leaving.

We are kneeling face to face, pressing our mouths together.
Our noses are blocked wth filter tips.
Ulay:
I am breathing in oxygen.
I am breathing out carbon dioxide.
Marina:
I am breathing in carbon dioxide.
I am breathing out carbon dioxide.

Performance
We are standing naked in the main entrance of the Museum, facing each other.
The public entering the Museum have to pass sideways through the small space between us.
Each person passing has to choose which one of us to face.

Performance
We kneel, face to face.
Our faces are lit by two strong laps.
Alternately, we slap each other’s face until one of us stops.
In a given space.
First part
Performance
Without public.
We are sitting back to back, tied together by our hair not moving.
Duration: 16 hours.
Second part:
Performance
The public come in.
We continue sitting for one more hour.

We are facing each other, both producing a continuous vocal sound.
We slowly build up the tension, our faces coming closer together until we are screaming into each other’s open mouths.

Ulay:
I am fixed to the wall by a stretched rubber cord.
I move repeatedly towards the audience as far as the elasticity of the material permits.
Marina:
I am standing parallel to the point of maximum expansion.
A person from the audience attacks me and leaves.
I come back to my place.
Performance
I sit with a skeleton on my lap, next to me is a bucket filled with soapy water.
With my right hand I vigorously brush different parts of the skeleton.

I whip myself to the point where I don’t feel the pain anymore.

I dance, alone, to the sound of Arabian tango music.

Sitting on a bicycle seat, my feet not touching the ground, the intensity of light slowly increases in the space.
